The Belgian security specialist TrustBuilder has appointed Frank Hamerlinck as CEO. Hamerlinck has a long track record as entrepreneur. He succeeds Marc Vanmaele, who founded TrustBuilder and who will now focus on his role as chairman of the Board.

TrustBuilder Corporation N.V. is a fast-growing Belgian company. With its product Trustbuilder Identity Hub, it is one of the trendsetters in Identity & Access Management (IAM). Established in 2017, TrustBuilder was spun off from service provider SecurIT and, in doing so, brought with it 20 years of IAM implementation experience. TrustBuilder makes customers secure, in several different sectors, but with a focus on financial services, retail, healthcare and government. Customers include the likes of Allianz Benelux, Argenta, KBC, Daikin Europe, FedNot, the Dutch Chamber of Commerce and SD Worx. The company has branches in Ghent and New York.
Doing business is in Hamerlinck’s blood. In 2012 he co-founded NGData, where he fulfilled the role of COO until September 2019. Prior to that, he stood at the cradle of, among other things, Porthus – the first Belgian Application Service Provider. For a while, he advised – as ‘Entrepreneur in Residence’ – young entrepreneurs and startups at iMinds, on the development of their business ideas.
At TrustBuilder, Hamerlinck wants to focus on growing the company further, both locally and internationally.
The era in which company-customer relations operated according to a distinct, set pattern is far behind us. These days, customers expect a service that takes their preferences into account, and this trend is being mirrored in data protection. Solutions are needed that enable the use of popular authentication providers such as itsme, Facebook and Google,” said Hamerlinck.
“With TrustBuilder Identity Hub we have great technology on hand that couples precisely that ease of use with an ultra-secure protection of the data. I look forward to discussing this with our customers in the coming weeks.
Marc Vanmaele, founder of TrustBuilder says:
In Frank Hamerlinck we have recruited an entrepreneur in heart and soul. His experience with fast-growing companies will help us in the continued growth of TrustBuilder and its expansion abroad.
From now on, Vanmaele will focus on his role as chairman of the Board. In that capacity, he is currently coordinating a second round of external funding for TrustBuilder.
